Kate Middleton suffers relapse: Prince William skips British Military Tournament to tend to ailing wife
Kate Middleton has suffered a relapse of the severe morning sickness that led to her being hospitalized.
Prince William skipped the British Military Tournament on Sunday to tend to his ailing wife, who’s pregnant with their first child. He and his wife are still coming to terms with the suicide of a nurse at the hospital where she was being treated following a radio prank by two Australian radio presenters.
The previous night, a dapperly dressed William in black tux strutted solo to the Winter Whites charity gala in London, giving guests an update on Kate’s lingering condition, according to Marie Claire U.K.
“I don’t know why they call it morning sickness — they should call it all day and all night sickness,” he said.
William also said Kate has been going through a “long old process, but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever.”
Kate, described as less than 12 weeks pregnant, has been kicking her feet up at Kensington Palace following a stay at a London hospital last week. She was admitted for hyperemesis gravidarum — a debilitating form of morning sickness.
Since then, the 30-year-old Duchess has kept out of the public eye. A spokesman for the couple said the palace would not be giving regular updates about her health in order to “allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy.”
Her hospital visit was clouded by controversy after a pair of Aussie radio hosts tricked a nurse in revealing that the royal had been “retching.” The duo has since been pulled off the air and their show canceled after the nurse was found dead Friday in an apparent suicide.
